Good luck chaps!

Whilst some businesses are closing others are opening with an eye on the future and balls of steel...

Ready for action at O´Neills

Meanwhile whilst some close others are opening. Peter Ledwidge (you may know him either as a golf professional or the old landlord of Burlington Berties in Santa Ponsa, many years ago) has taken over O’Neills in Palmanova. The bar is open for food and drink, and has a pool table as well. Get down there to wish him and his family luck.

And in Palma a new restaurant is launching, La Pescaderia de Andi. Andi’s aims to serve only the freshest seafood from around the Med. They say “Seafood is our passion, generosity is our mission, and quality is our commitment, offering you the best value for money on the island”. As soon as you enter Andi’s (named after the owner, Andi) you’ll be able to choose your own fresh fish, meat or seafood which will be passed to the open kitchen to be grilled. Whilst you wait for your main course, you will be served a complimentary selection of home made starters and breads. Don’t like fish?  No problem they say, you can choose from a seasonal menu of meat dishes, or enjoy a starter selection without a main course. Chef Keren Visser got in touch and told me “We are opening a new restaurant in San Agustin right in the thick of the second wave of the C word and all its restrictions! So would really appreciate some local support. La Pescaderia de Andi is the first of its kind in Majorca. We will be adopting the Middle Eastern tradition of serving lots of little starters and salads, mezze style, free with every main course. Local fish and seafood will be delivered daily. And we are also giving away free wine from a local winery in Binissalem. We open this weekend. Please come!” You will find Andi´s on Avenida de Joan Miro 322 in the San Agustin area. You can see more about them on their website

Good luck to both Peter and Andi with their new ventures, if you can please go out and support your local businesses, they need you so much right now.
