Yesterday marked the 40th anniversary since Lieutenant-Colonel Antonio Tejero, led several hundred of his fellow Civil Guard officers into Spain's Congress during a vote to elect a new prime minister. The politicians were held hostage for more than 18 hours, before it became apparent that the military coup was not going to be successful... fascinating and vital moment in Spanish history.
